2017 Chandler Run for Bears

2017 Chandler Run for Bears

The Chandler Run for Bears is a fundraiser dedicated to providing memorable Build-A-Bear Workshop experiences for children with cancer and other serious illnesses. Supporters of UMPS CARE Charities will raise money for the BLUE for Kids Hospital Program and then come together on March 4th to run the Chandler Ostrich Festival 5k.

A hospital stay can be a frightening time for children and their families. Major League Baseball umpires, MLB umpire wives, sports team mascots and supporters of UMPS CARE team up to host Build-A-Bear Workshop experiences at children's hospitals across the country. Hospitalized children dress their cuddly friends while high-fiving the mascot and sharing a laugh with a major league umpire. With the money raised from the Run for Bears event, UMPS CARE Charities will host 13 children's hospital events in 2017, including one at Phoenix Children's Hospital.
