NOTE: This is a closed event.  You must be a professional baseball umpire or invited by an umpire to participate.

WHAT
: UMPS CARE Charities Golf Marathon.  Join fellow Major League and Minor League Baseball Umpires to raise money for a wonderful cause and then play 100 holes of golf in one day.  Making a difference in the lives of children has never been so much fun! 

WHEN: Wednesday, November 10, 2010 beginning at 8:00AM.  
 
WHERE: The Augusta Ranch Golf Course in Mesa, AZ.  Augusta Ranch Golf Club is an 18-hole, 3800 yard, par 61 golf course renowned for exceptional playing conditions, friendly service and challenging layout. 
 
WHY: This exclusive event raises funds for the UMPS CARE Charities children's hospital program, youth ticket program, and family care programs.  

HOW: Each participant encourages family, friends, sports officials and business contacts to pledge financial support by way of a “per-hole” sponsorship.   UMPS CARE Charities provides support to help you reach your goal – including a personal Web page that allows people to make credit-card donations and access to a fundraising kit of materials to assist in the fundraising effort (sample e-mails, letters, etc.).

GOLFER FUNDRAISING COMMITMENT: MLB Umpires are asked to raise a minimum of $2500 in pledges by October 1.  MiLB Umpires are asked to raise a minimum of $1750 in pledges by October 1.

PAID TRAVEL TO/FROM EVENT: Golfers receive complimentary hotel and airfare.
