The inaugural UMPS CARE Charities Fairway to the Rockies event has been a huge success
A field of 90 golfers teed off for a day of fun and giving back at the beautiful Red Hawk Ridge Golf Course in Castle Rock, Colorado, all to support our programs.
Special thanks to Paul Emmel, who spent nearly 25 years as a Major League Baseball umpire, for organizing this event, our many sponsors and our volunteers for putting this event together.
Thanks also to Alex MacKay, a call-up umpire who hails from Denver, the event emcee Pete MacKay and comedian Jared Ewy for joining us.
The event featured a great breakfast, a day on the links, followed up with a banquet luncheon. The banquet was highlighted by an appearance from Denver Broncos Hall of Fame linebacker Randy Gradishar.
Congratulations to our first-place golfers – Dave Doehring, Brandon Plaggemeyer, Lindsey Schroedter and Drew Asmus! They received Broncos jerseys autogrpahed by Randy Grandishar!
Runners-up are Matt Bryant, Evan Harris, Cesare Meriman and Roger Bennett.
Finishing in third is the foursome of Chan Timmons, Steve Bigelow, Alan Holman and Garrett Schade.
