Official-ly FORE Kids, an annual charity golf tournament held in Salt Lake City, has been raising funds for four years. This year’s event, held at The Links at Sleepy Ridge in Orem, Utah, marked another hugely successful year on the links.
More importantly, it was a huge success off the golf course, too.
Thanks to the tournament, organized by Randy and Dax Upton, Brandon Riley, Jeff Cluff, Travis Roberts, and Al White, UMPS CARE Charities and Sports Officials Care were able to join forces and give back to the community.
The day after the tournament, several Utah sports officials – Tim Justice, Greg Carter and Al White – took time out to deliver 100 Build-A-Bear® furry friends to young patients at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City.
Official-ly FORE Kids presented UMPS CARE a $10,000 check following the golf tournament. UMPS CARE and Sports Officials Care will split the check to support programs from both charities. To learn more about Sports Officials Care, click HERE
“Our goal of helping Utah kids through this tournament is direct proof of how supportive sports officials can be off the field,” said Dax, who has spent 12 years as a Division I umpire and has also worked as a high school basketball referee. “The participation has been at an all-time high this year, and Official-ly FORE Kids as well as all the officials involved have made it possible for us to give back in bigger ways than ever before. The community of officials as well as all of our friends and family that don’t step on the field in that capacity have been extremely supportive, and we look forward to continuing this tradition of giving back in Utah.”
All of at UMPS CARE are grateful for the continued support of Dax, Randy and Brandon and everyone involved with the Official-ly FORE Kids Golf Tournament. We can’t wait for next year’s event!
